I will say the best part of the job was getting customers that understood buyback and ones that would come back and we’re very pleasant to talk to and some of my coworkers being really great people. We had to walk on egg shells and clean up the store like there’s no tomorrow, but only if corporate is coming. Also on a day when corporate is supposed to arrive. And add on more unnecessary work to be so called, “ efficient” they genuinely have no idea what they are doing. 2 Stores range in size from 4,000 to 30,000 square feet and sell books, magazines, manga, collectibles, toys, technology, and gifts. Books-A-Million, Inc., also known as BAM, is a bookstore chain in the United States, operating 260 stores in 32 states. The second thing wrong is, corporate loves to change things even if they are working great (or take away something your store does that really works). The offers are usually so low that they feel insulted and get angry, not at the company but at us and some instances where I was even yelled at. Fun place, Easy work, Worst part of job is simply some rude customers. The problem however is when you go to give the customer the offer. Since 2nd and Charles isn’t a big company and still growing, unless you are willing to travel and they aren’t close to each other (which they will only pay a GM to move) then good luck. No room to grow unless you want to travel.

Now the buyback aspect wasn’t bad, in fact quite interesting actually sometimes fun, especially when customers brought in cool items. Being full time I got the hours but I was way under paid for my skills.
